3. Observation on Teacher (s) in the classroom
Firstly, I
want to introduce my cooperative teacher, his name is Mr. Jhon Paul E. Santos,
he is a fairly professional teacher in their field and has extensive knowledge
about his own major. I am proud to be able to have a cooperative teacher like
him because he really knows what I have to do and I choose.
1.1 Planing for Teaching
In designing the learning
plan each teacher has a syllabus and several other needs before teaching and
learning activities begin. Some of the things that need to be prepared in
teaching while at USHS are self preparation in the form of teaching and
learning planning including learning scenarios and teaching materials..
Even if there is a written learning plan, the format is semi-detailed. Here are
the things that exist in the learning plan:
- Learning Objectives about the goals that student must
achieve.
- Learning Concepts include of Key Concepts, Learning
Materials, References, and Processing Skills.
- Learning Procedures includes of Daily Routine, Engage,
Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and evaluate part.
- Learning Agreements
1.2 Preparing
lessons and materials
Before teaching in the classroom teachers at USHS must
have careful planning in advance, where if learning uses PPT each teacher must
provide the necessary materials, but usually if done in demonstration
preparation usually only requires a few things such as praying before studying,
checking cleanliness seating, asking for student preparation in learning and
also giving statements about motivation in learning that leads to the topic of
discussion of learning.
· Teaching
in class
While teaching in the class of sir jhon paul E. santos (Sir
JP) provides very effective learning and accuracy according to the time and
content of the discussion. One of the interesting things during my learning
observation is that Sir JP gives an explanation with enough style to make
students not easily tired of listening to what is being explained, this makes
it easy for students to respond and get information quickly through the method
given by JP. During learning sir JP class always insert a statement of learning
that has to do with daily life so that children or students will connect
lessons learned with real life. In general, teachers at USHS are quite
skilled in managing time while teaching given that each subject is only 1 hour
per class.
· Measurement
and Evaluation
The
teacher always gives an evaluation at the end of each meeting, or before
entering the next topic. At the end of the lesson in addition to
providing assignments, the teacher also often provides evaluations to students
regarding information or the core of the lesson given. usually evaluation in
the form of essay questions or multiple choice. Before entering evaluation,
students will also be given a generalitation to provide further reinforcement
after the teacher's explanation of the topic discussed.
